Implants

The dental implants are artificial tooth roots that are used to replace missing teeth. Implants can be placed into your upper or lower jaw bone using a minor surgical procedure.

On the first appointment, the dentist will examine your teeth and analyse your x-ray so he can see the amount of bone you have. He will also examine the systemic diseases and habits you have, as blood problems or smoking can cause slow healing and scarring, and the bone can´t integrate with the implant.

On the second appointment, the implant will be placed and we will close the gum with stitches. The stitches will be removed 10 days after the surgery. Then, after 3-6 months, when the implants are integrated, they will be able to support the teeth that will be joined to them (crowns, bridges,…).
